Here I am in Shanghai Pudong International Airport, after an arduous 5 hour flight. I don’t mind not having in-flight entertainment, but I do mind having to breathe in bad odour for 5 hours. The source of the bad smell? From the Russian (I assume) man sitting directly in front of me.
And he’s really something. It’s the airline’s Children’s Week, so they were playing some traditional jarring Chinese children songs. I don’t like them either, but I wouldn’t make it a point to criticise it to the stewardess, saying that it was horrid and making him crazy. The many primary school children seemed to be enjoying the songs.
Speaking of those children, wow! They really have good skin with rosy cheeks! That’s something you don’t see in the Little Red Dot. Perhaps it’s our weather.
Anyway, I’m pleased to announce that those 2 Russians didn’t receive very good service. The stewards and stewardesses, for some reason, when speaking in English, appeared to be rather rude and harsh. Hmm... Good thing I’m able to converse in Mandarin.
The airport was another huge problem. Clearing the transfer immigration was really weird. I had previously checked-in in the Dot and had my boarding pass, and was thus directed to the transfer hall to wait for my plane. Sure good enough. But when I made my way to the end of the winding corridor, the door at the end was locked! Yes, locked! Made my way back to ask and was informed that someone would open it. I was one of the last to enter after that. And weirdly enough, they locked the door behind us! Wah... Macam like criminals like that. Guess they don’t really get much traffic through here. That’s why the ticket’s so cheap.
On to an hours’ wait. At least it’s not the 14 hour wait I’ll have at JFK.
Nice views, eh?
